Dr Srinivasan is an Australian trained General Surgeon who holds
dual surgical fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of
Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Born and
raised in the costal metropolitan city of Chennai, India, Dr
Srinivasan completed his medical school from Sri Ramachandra
University, India with honors and gold medal in General Surgery.
He pursued his surgical interests by embarking on to the general
surgical residency in New Jersey, USA for 2 years where he
gained extensive experience in general surgery and its
subspecialties. After spending a year of training in endocrine
surgery in Singapore,Dr Srinivasan migrated to Australia and
obtained his FRACS after completing his general surgical
training through the Hunter New England hub. Following FRACS, Dr
Srinivasan graduated his master’s in surgery from the and completed a combined diploma and fellowship
program in laparoscopic and robotic surgery accredited by the
World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and International
College of Robotic Surgeons. He is a member of Australia New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES) and
Australia New Zealand Association for Surgery for Trauma.
He performs a wide range of general surgical procedures, and his
subspecialty interests include minimal access abdominal surgery
(laparoscopic and robotic) and endocrine surgery (thyroids,
parathyroids and adrenal glands).
Dr. Srinivasan is a conjoint clinical lecturer for the
University of Newcastle and surgical training supervisor
at Tamworth Base hospital. He is passionate about academic surgery and provides educational support for
surgical trainees, junior doctors and medical students. He has several
publications and presentations at national and international
conferences in countries like Spain and South Korea to his
credit.During his time as a surgical trainee and locum
consultant at Tamworth, Dr Srinivasan was amazed by the friendly
community and the lifestyle offered by this vibrant regional
city and not to ignore, the wide variety of surgical pathologies
on offer and decided to move to
Tamworth with his partner, a general practitioner and their two
girls.
